Opéra Louisiane Young Artist Residency Program
Supporting emerging voices. Building experience. Connecting through opera.
Opéra Louisiane’s Young Artist Residency Program offers singers ages 20–30 the opportunity to grow as performers while contributing to the cultural life of our community. Through involvement in mainstage productions, educational programming, and community outreach, Young Artists gain meaningful experience sharing opera with audiences both onstage and beyond the theater.
Selected through a competitive audition process, residents receive a one-year appointment and a one-time stipend. Throughout the season, they are considered for roles and performance opportunities suited to their voices, experience, and artistic development. Each opportunity helps emerging singers build confidence, strengthen their stage experience, and take the next step in their artistic journeys.
For the 2026–27 season, Opéra Louisiane welcomes Chase Côté, Nicholas Dieux, Cristina Escobedo, and Brett Ochoa as its Young Artist Residents. We look forward to introducing audiences to these artists as they lend their voices and talents to the season ahead.
The Young Artist Residency Program is underwritten by members of Opéra Louisiane’s Board of Directors. Their generosity helps create valuable opportunities for emerging performers while bringing opera to our community. To help support the next generation of artists, visit our donation page.
